The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced the withdrawal of troops from the settlement of Liman.
The ministry said in a statement that the decision was made in connection with the threat of encirclement. The ministry also said that the troops had been transferred to more advantageous positions.
The official representative of the Ministry of Defense, Igor Konashenkov, said that in this direction more than 200 Ukrainian servicemen, five tanks and nine infantry fighting vehicles were destroyed during the day, but still the enemy introduced reserves and continued the offensive.
Earlier, the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin said that “the situation is difficult” and that in this area “the guys are holding on with their last strength”.
