According to Politico, citing diplomatic sources in the EU, the European Union has agreed on a new package of sanctions against Russia, including an oil price ceiling.
“The framework agreement on the eighth package of sanctions against Russia, including the restriction of prices for Russian oil, was agreed on October 4 during a meeting of EU ambassadors,” the report says.
The publication clarifies that the final version of the text will be approved by the ambassadors on Wednesday, October 5.
