Federation Council member Alexey Pushkov in his Telegram channel commented on the plans of Russia and Saudi Arabia to significantly reduce oil production.
According to the senator, such a step will be a response to the introduction by the European Union of a ceiling on prices for Russian oil as part of the eighth package of sanctions against the Russian Federation.
“If such a reduction in oil production occurs, it will be a direct response to the introduction of a ceiling on Russian oil prices, as well as to the idea of “ceilings” as such. Counterattack in response to a blow: new countries are being drawn into energy wars,” Pushkov believes.
