President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that he had agreed with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on the deployment of a joint regional grouping of troops.
According to Lukashenko, this decision was made in connection with the aggravation on the western borders of the Union State. It was discussed during a one-on-one meeting between the heads of state after the informal CIS summit in St. Petersburg, reports belta.by .
The basis of the grouping will be the Armed Forces of Belarus, Lukashenko said.
