Dmitry Peskov told reporters that the coat that Putin, seeing off UAE President Al Nahyan, threw over his shoulders should be regarded as “a gesture of attention that reflects the mutual attitude of the leaders.”
He said he didn’t know if the guest had returned his coat to Putin.
Answering the question of what the president will wear if the coat has flown to the UAE, the Kremlin spokesman said: “I don’t think it will be a problem.”
Describing the talks with al Nahyan, Peskov called them substantive and constructive.
Putin responded to the concerns of the President of the UAE in connection with the shelling of the Zaporozhye NPP. “Ukrainian affairs” were also condemned. Peskov recalled that the UAE played an important role in the prisoner exchange process, and Putin, according to him, expressed interest in continuing Abu Dhabi’s mediation efforts.
In turn, Al Nahyan informed the Russian president “about the position of the Ukrainian side on a number of issues.”
