A Russian submarine was spotted off the coast of Brittany in France. She was escorted by the French Navy. This is reported by BFM TV. The incident occurred at the end of September.

It is alleged that the Russian vessel was in transit 100 kilometers from the coast. On September 29, the submarine of the Russian Navy was allegedly escorted by the frigate “Normandy”, based in Brest. Along with her was the Russian tugboat “Sergey Balk”, according to the French media.

At the same time, the Russian submarine allegedly moved on the surface. The commander of “Normandy” stated that the Bay of Biscay corresponds to the French area of responsibility. It is noted that these submarines often transit through it.

Earlier, former US Army officer Brent Eastwood expressed the view that Russian underwater weapons pose a serious threat to the United States of America. He told about the BS-329 nuclear submarine “Belgorod”, equipped with modern equipment.
