The deployment of observers from other States may contribute to the resolution of the conflict situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border. This is what the Kommersant newspaper writes about.

Kyrgyz Defense Minister Baktybek Bekbolotov said that at a meeting with CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zasem, he raised the issue of the appearance of an “arbitrator.” Bekbolotov proposed to deploy a small contingent of CSTO forces that would monitor compliance with the ceasefire and monitor the withdrawal of heavy military equipment.

The Minister of Defense of Kyrgyzstan did not specify whether we are talking about observers or peacekeepers. But the implementation of this idea will require some efforts on the part of the CSTO.

Recall that the situation on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan remains tense. Periodically, armed clashes occur between the troops of the two states.
