Russian Ambassador to Afghanistan Dmitry Zhirnov called the forces of resistance to militants in the province of Panjshir rebels, according to him, they have almost no military potential.
“Panjshir-judging by what the experts with whom we consult say, the rebels have little military prospects, military potential, led by Ahmad Masoud Jr. and First Vice President [Amrullah] Saleh, ” Zhirnov said on the YouTube channel “Solovyov Live”.
He also said that the resistance ” lives on the money that Saleh stole from the treasury, having escaped from Kabul.”
Recall that members of the resistance opposed the Taliban militants who seized the country (a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation). The militants surrounded Panjshir from all sides. Zhirnov believes that the Taliban “do not want blood” and are “ready for dialogue”.
Earlier, Zhirnov said that there is no real alternative to the Taliban in Afghanistan.
