US President Joe Biden will hold a meeting with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky. This was told by the representative of the White House, Jen Psaki.
According to the press secretary, the leaders of the two countries will meet “next week,” but Psaki did not name the exact date. She noted that Zelensky’s visit will ” confirm the American commitment to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, close cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy security,” as well as support for the President of Ukraine in the fight against corruption and the implementation of the reform program in the country.
Earlier, the visit of the Ukrainian president to Washington was planned for August 30, then the date was postponed to August 31 due to the expansion of the visit program. But the end of the 20-year presence in Afghanistan was scheduled for the same date, which gave rise to arguments about postponing the meeting of the two heads of state.
