Russian Ambassador to Belarus Yevgeny Lukyanov said that Moscow will support Minsk after the introduction of new EU sanctions against Belarus.
“We will not abandon Belarus. We are allies. Allies do not betray each other, ” Lukyanov said.
According to him, Moscow will support Minsk “until the most critical circumstances”. At the moment, there are two scenarios for the development of events: optimistic and pessimistic.
Recall that on Monday, the European Union added 86 new persons to the Belarusian sanctions list: 78 individuals and 8 organizations. Josep Borrel did not rule out adding another package of sanctions. He noted that ” everything will depend on the situation in the country.”
In total, the restrictions now apply to 166 Belarusian citizens, including President Alexander Lukashenko, and 15 organizations.
