British Internet users did not agree with Putin’s words about the Third World War

In the British edition of The Daily Express, an article appeared on the recent speech of Russian President Vladimir Putin during the ” Direct Line”. The publication reminds that, according to Putin, the world would not be on the verge of a Third World War, even if the destroyer Defender in the Black Sea was sunk, because the UK knows that they cannot emerge victorious from this war”. In the comments, residents of the UK did not agree with Putin, suggesting that in the event of a war, Russia would not have won it, including because other NATO countries are behind Britain.

Some commentators have condemned Putin’s bellicose rhetoric in the context of the pandemic, or even suggested that the Russian president is trying to distract attention from the epidemiological situation in the country.

There were also those among the users who partially recognized Putin’s rightness:in particular, it was suggested that the British armed forces are “broken and weakened” as a result of the actions of “a number of governments”.
