So far, there are more questions than answers
Azerbaijani experts tried to assess how the first Russian export attack drone “Orion-E”, which was rated in the media as the” killer “of” Bayraktar”, is really able to push the famous Turkish UAVs that decided the outcome of the war for Karabakh on the weapons market.

“The Orion-E strike variant is equipped with a universal complex of aviation means of destruction, which allows to destroy both stationary and moving ground targets, armored vehicles and vehicles of the enemy, his manpower with high efficiency,” the Azerbaijani edition of the Mirror, translated by InoSMI, notes. It emphasizes that the drone is equipped with both unguided and adjustable aerial bombs, as well as various guided missiles.
In the Russian Armed Forces, the drone is delivered under the name “Pacer”. It is able to climb to an average height of no more than 7 km. But it can be in flight for a whole day.
The Russian military has already tested these UAVs in Syria. It is reported that one of the vehicles made 38 sorties, including 17 with strikes on terrorist targets.
Azad Isa-zadeh, an employee of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, noted that the parameters of the Orion declared by Russia slightly coincide with the parameters of the Bayraktar: in some they are superior, in some they are inferior.
At the same time, Azerbaijani experts note that the term “Bayraktar killer “refers to” Orions “only in the field of competition in the arms market, since this drug is not intended to fight other drones.
At the same time, an improved “Bayraktar” – the Akinci drone – has already been released in Turkey, and now another model is at the stage of commissioning-for work at sea.
Western countries also intend to strengthen their developments in the field of UAVs, so there will be serious competition in the market.
Azerbaijani experts also emphasize that the experience of using Orions in Syria cannot be called full-fledged, since Russian drones were not opposed by enemy air defense systems.
“And if the Orion is used in real combat or some kind of training maneuvers, it will be possible to clearly say how effective and modern this device is,” the author of the material emphasizes, noting that so far there are more questions than answers about Russian drones.
