Justice of the Peace Bruce Reinhart issued a decision to publish the justification for the search at the residence of former US President Donald Trump in Mar-a-Lago, Axios reports.
The portal explains that the judge demanded to publish the so-called affidavit – a document containing sworn testimony that became the justification for the search of the Trump estate. During it, the FBI searched for secret documents that Trump allegedly took away from the White House.
The judge’s ruling states that the affidavit will be published no later than noon on the East Coast of the United States (19:00 Moscow time) on Friday, August 26.
FBI agents searched Trump’s Florida estate at Mar-a-Lago on August 8 as part of an investigation into a possible violation of the espionage Act. Among the documents seized from Trump were “top secret” and “confidential”. He himself stated that he was ready to voluntarily give the FBI the declassified documents seized from him. Trump also filed a lawsuit demanding the appointment of an expert to evaluate the materials seized from him during the search. Trump’s supporters, like himself, consider the investigation to be politically motivated, and believe that its purpose is to prevent the former head of the White House from participating in the presidential elections of 2024.
