New footage has been published depicting the scandal at today’s closing ceremony of the XX Congress of the Communist Party of China, during which former Secretary General Hu Jintao was led out of the hall by the arms. The CPC congress ended with the re-election of Xi Jinping for a third term, this was preceded by the “violent”, as it seemed to observers, removal from the meeting of the former head of the party, who is an opponent of the current leader.
The new footage of the video broadcast shows that Hu Jintao probably felt bad from the very beginning of the event. He was helped to take a seat next to Xi Jinping, taking him by the arm to the chair. Then the head of the People’s Republic of China himself kindly invited him to sit down while the rest of the party members still applauded the congress standing.
The previously shown footage also captured that when Hu Jintao was lifted from his seat by his arms and, as if against his will, he said something to his successor, who responded with nods.
The Chinese authorities have not yet commented on the incident.
