In Tel Aviv, shortly before 20:00 (coincides with Moscow time), when the announced truce between Israel and the radical Islamic Jihad group (recognized as terrorist and banned in Russia) was to begin, air raid sirens went off.
Local media reports that there were no data on the victims in the city.
Earlier it was reported that the Israeli authorities agreed to a cease-fire from the specified time. Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid said that the objectives of the operation in the Gaza Strip have been achieved, therefore there is no point in continuing it. At the same time, Islamic Jihad did not promptly provide its response to the truce proposal.
Al Jazeera reports, citing sources in the negotiating group from Egypt, that the conclusion of a truce agreement is “already close.”
