Belarus cuts Lithuania’s diplomatic mission to a minimum

The Belarusian Foreign Ministry announced the decision of Minsk to reduce the diplomatic representation of Lithuania to a minimum until Vilnius cancels “unfriendly initiatives”. On the eve of the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry announced that the office of ex-presidential candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya received diplomatic status in this country.

The Belarusian Foreign Ministry said that the temporary charge d’affaires of the Republic of Lithuania, Asta Andiyauskene, who was summoned to the department, was pointed out to the “categorical unacceptability” of such statements – about ” the endowment of certain ephemeral structures … official diplomatic status”.

Belarusian diplomats also said that their Lithuanian colleagues continue to take “ridiculous and openly hostile steps”.
