Former Chairman of the Management Board of Belgazprombank Viktor Babariko was sentenced to 14 years in prison in Belarus. The verdict was announced by the Supreme Court of the country, Belta reports.
On June 28, the former presidential candidate of Belarus made his last speech at the trial. In it, he stated that he could not plead guilty to a crime that he did not commit.
Babariko is accused of taking bribes and legalizing income on a particularly large scale. He faced up to 15 years in prison.
