Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) did not want to join the sanctions regime against Russia, said Milorad Dodik, a member of the BiH Presidium from the Serbs, at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The broadcast of the meeting was conducted by the TV channel “Russia 24”. Dodik said that his country is trying to avoid external influence on its policy towards Russia.
“We are trying to maintain our policy without influence. We didn’t want to join the sanctions,” he said.
Dodik thanked Russia for maintaining prices for gas supplies under previous conditions and for cooperation in the energy sector, stressing that energy resources from the Russian Federation “have no alternative.”
Putin said that there are “certain difficulties” in relations between the countries in connection with the accession of BiH to sanctions against the Russian Federation, but relations continue and will develop.
