The aircraft carrier strike group of the Royal Navy of Great Britain, led by the aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth, left the Mediterranean Sea today, passing through the Suez Canal in the direction of the Red Sea.
Earlier, the destroyer Defender of the Royal Navy of Great Britain and the Dutch frigate HNLMS Evertsen from the aircraft carrier strike group HMS Queen Elizabeth arrived in Istanbul before a visit to the Black Sea.
The day before, the ships passed through the Dardanelles Strait from the Aegean to the Sea of Marmara.
In the Western Black Sea region, from June 28 to July 10, NATO exercises Sea Breeze 2021 (“Sea Breeze”) are planned. Ukraine will join them. The exercises will involve 4,000 military personnel, 40 warships, boats and supply vessels, 30 aircraft and helicopters, and more than 100 vehicles and armored vehicles.
