Former Pentagon chief and former CIA director Robert Gates, speaking at a virtual event organized by the Ronald Reagan Institute, said that Washington has imposed so many anti-Russian sanctions that it has almost completely lost the ability to exert pressure on Moscow by this method.

According to him, there are few such sanctions that the US authorities have not yet imposed, and that would matter.

“Many of these sanctions end up affecting ordinary Russians,” Gates added.Among other things, the former director of the CIA made a statement that the United States should take measures against the country’s officials in response to cyber attacks carried out by Russian hackers.

“I believe that if these attacks continue, America needs to be creative and not only act against hackers, but also consider measures that we can take against those in the Russian president’s entourage. I do not think that to come up with something like this, it is beyond human capabilities, ” Gates said.

Pushilin accused the Ukrainian Armed Forces of using terror tactics in the Donbas

PHOTO: PRESS SERVICE OF THE HEAD OF THE DPR

The Armed Forces of Ukraine resort to the tactics of terror and aggression on the contact line in the Donbas. This was stated by the head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin after the death of four soldiers as a result of shelling committed by Ukrainian security forces.

“Demonstrative violations of the agreements at the level of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) of the ceasefire regime can be regarded in the only possible way: the Ukrainian Armed Forces use the JCCC of the Ukrainian side as an instrument of deception and continue to use the tactics of terror and brutal aggression,” Pushilin wrote in his Telegram channel.

He also added that the AFU units fired at an ambulance that was leaving to evacuate the bodies of the victims.

“Unlike the Ukrainian side, which is blatantly and blatantly sabotaging the Minsk agreements, we continue to remain committed to the agreements approved at the level of the UN Security Council and do not seek to develop a hot phase of the conflict. Once again, I emphasize that we should not and will not let Ukraine get away with its vile antics and intend to implement appropriate retaliatory steps, ” the head of the DPR stated.
