CEC of Armenia: Pashinyan’s party wins more than 58% of votes in elections

The Central Election Commission of Armenia has released the preliminary results of the early parliamentary elections after processing ballots from 1,050 of the country’s 2,008 polling stations.

“In the early parliamentary elections of Armenia, the party of acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan “Civil Contract” is gaining 58.02% of the vote. This is followed by the bloc of ex-President Robert Kocharian, 18.75% of the voters voted for him, ” the CEC reports.

The third and fourth places are occupied by the bloc of former President Serzh Sargsyan “I have the Honor” (5.63% of votes) and the party “Prosperous Armenia” of businessman Gagik Tsarukyan (4.78% of votes). However, these political associations failed to pass the threshold for parties (5%) and blocs (7%).

It should be noted that Pashinyan’s party has overcome the 54% barrier that allows forming a government.
