The former head of the Russian analysis department at the CIA, George Beebe, who also worked as an adviser to former US Vice President Dick Cheney, said in an interview with The HILL that it is better for the US to get out of the Ukrainian crisis now.
The analyst believes that the “window of opportunity” for the current administration in Ukraine is narrowing and time will now play into Russia’s hands.
The rejection of a compromise settlement on Ukraine means for the United States, according to the expert, a choice “between an escalation of our participation and an endurance contest in which Russia has more chances.”
