Georgian Interior Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri said that his country has no reason to close the border with Russia and restrict entry to Russians. According to him, information about 250 thousand Russian citizens who came to a neighboring state is fake.
According to him, about four to five days ago there were from 5 to 6 thousand arrivals, and now this figure has grown to 10 thousand, or about 40-45%. So, on September 23, 11.2 thousand people arrived in Georgia, and a day later – less than 10 thousand.
Gomelauri reminded that Russian citizens have always come to Georgia and will come now. “Why is it necessary to restrict their entry right now?” Gomelauri asked the journalists.
Earlier, Deputy Military Commissar of Moscow Maxim Loktev said that Muscovites who are liable for military service, who are booked by the employer, have the right to free movement around the country, and also to travel abroad.
