German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock said that Germany will support “brave media workers who had to leave their homeland.” The list of countries from which such media representatives will arrive, according to her, looks like this: Afghanistan, Ukraine, Russia, Belarus. The Minister made her statement at the Global Media Forum conference in Bonn.
According to Berbok, the Ministry has already developed a program to protect and support journalists from different countries who are at risk of persecution.
In April, it was reported that the former editor of the First Channel Marina Ovsyannikova got a job in the German edition of Die Welt. She got a job as a freelance newspaper correspondent covering news from Russia and Ukraine.
