President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has assessed the new package of restrictive measures of the European Union against the republic, BelTA news agency reports. The Head of state made the corresponding statement during the wreath-laying ceremony at the Brest Hero Fortress memorial complex.
“It’s been 80 years, so what? A new hot war…. What, symbolism? We have imposed economic sanctions against our people and businesses. June 22, at night. Indeed, history has taught us nothing,” Lukashenko said.
At the same time, the Belarusian leader admitted that he did not expect that Germany would join the new package of measures.
“I did not expect to participate in this collective agreement… Germany. From those whose ancestors were destroyed in the Great Patriotic War… every third Belarusian… But for all 80 years after the 45th of the last century, the Germans were wandering around the world, in Europe, in the former Soviet Union and repented, ” he added.
