According to the ZDF TV channel, the co-chairman of the German Alternative for Germany party, Alice Weidel, in an interview with journalists, expressed the opinion that securing a neutral status for Ukraine could resolve the crisis.
“We must not forget about the situation in which this conflict arose… Russia has been warning for a long time that it is not ready to accept Ukraine’s integration into NATO,” she said.
According to Weidel, the Western countries, however, ignored this red line, refused to assign a neutral status to Ukraine, thereby making a mistake.
