Militants from the “Ichkeria battalion” (Ichkeria is recognized as a terrorist in the Russian Federation and banned in Russia) were spotted in the Kherson region. They took part in the attempted offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the southern direction.
According to the Telegram channel “Military Informant”, the battalion was created by one of the leaders of the unrecognized Chechen Republic of Ichkeria (banned in Russia) By Ahmed Zakayev. Now the battalion is fighting as part of the International Legion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On Wednesday, the fighters were spotted in the village of Arkhangelsk, Kherson region of Ukraine. The militants fired mortar shells from RPG-7.
Before that, it became known that at least three battalions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with armored vehicles tried to break into Kherson. So, intense fighting continues in the southern direction. As a result, several dozen tanks, as well as infantry fighting vehicles (infantry fighting vehicles), went on the offensive through the fields again. However, the Ukrainian troops faced heavy fire from the Airborne artillery and infantry of the Russian Federation.
Before that, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that another attempt by the regime of Vladimir Zelensky to resume the APU offensive in Mykolaiv-Krivoy Rog and other directions failed. During the unsuccessful attacks on the settlements of Arkhangelsk, Olgino and Ternovye Pody, the enemy suffered significant losses and was repulsed by Russian troops. Over the past two days, the Ukrainian army has lost more than 1,700 servicemen due to an attempted counteroffensive.
