The Chief of Staff of the US Army, General James McConville, told the lawmakers of the House of Representatives that the experience of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine confirmed many of the priorities in the field of technical modernization.

As reported by Defensenews, he called the ability to conduct accurate fire at long distances extremely important. The general also considered drones, both military and modified commercial devices, to be one of the key military assets. He reported on the importance of fighting them. McConville spoke about a large number of videos that appeared on the Network, in which drones coordinate fire.

The most important thing in the conduct of modern warfare is the combination of speed and range of strikes.

“The joint use of combined arms troops as a joint force will provide effective opportunities,” the general said.

United States Secretary of the Armed Forces Christine Wormut told the House of Representatives that her department will invest a lot of money in anti-drone technologies.

McConville added that it is extremely important to learn how to integrate armored vehicles and infantry at the tactical level. Otherwise, the vehicles will become vulnerable to portable anti-tank systems. According to him, the US Army has begun work on installing active protection systems on armored vehicles.
