The sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and a senior official of the ruling party of the DPRK, Kim Yo-jung, said that the United States has wrong expectations from her country. A member of the ruling North Korean family stressed that the Americans are trying to console themselves in this way.
Kim Yo-jung said this in response to the words of US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan. Earlier, the American told reporters that he noticed an “interesting signal” in Kim Jong-un’s recent speech, indicating that Pyongyang is preparing for both confrontation and diplomacy with the United States.
At the same time, the US Special Representative for North Korea, Song Kim, is currently on a visit to South Korea. At a trilateral meeting with his South Korean and Japanese counterparts, he said that Washington expects Pyongyang to agree on the resumption of dialogue between the North and the South.
