Russian President Vladimir Putin dismissed several high-ranking employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs by his decree. So, five generals lost their positions.
In particular, these are two deputy heads of the Moscow police-Andrey Ponorts and Natalia Agafyeva. And two generals who held high positions in the central office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were also dismissed. One of them is Dmitry Sharobarov, who headed the Main Transport Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for more than ten years.
The dismissals also affected the deputy head of the Department of Civil Service and Personnel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Major General of the Internal service Vitaly Krasnov and the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the South-Western District of Moscow, Police Major General Yuri Demin.
According to Kommersant, a number of generals lost their posts due to the fact that a few years ago they vouched for the recent head of the Kamchatka police, who came under criminal prosecution. Others are retiring, but according to the law they could still serve.
In early August, during a working trip to the Kamchatka Territory, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Kolokoltsev, introduced the new head of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ivan Kokukhin. His predecessor, Mikhail Kiselyov, was detained for abuse of office. In early June, he was relieved of his post.
