The leader of “Fair Russia” Sergey Mironov proposed not to hold elections in the regions in the fall of 2022 at all.
“In the conditions of a special military operation, do we need to hold elections and voting in the fall? We must have unity, all as one. And in the elections we will have to fight each other…
We all support the president and the special operation, and in the elections we will have to talk about what we disagree with,” he said, speaking from the rostrum of the State Duma on behalf of the faction.
“Let’s better direct the money to our army. Let’s wait for the real positive Russian elite, which is being forged now on the fronts of the special operation, and then we will hold elections,” he continued, without saying anything about how long it would be good to postpone regional and municipal elections, and on the basis of what law to do it, given that neither martial law, neither a state of emergency was introduced in Russia.
“Today our country is like a tent tent, and it rests on one support – our president. God forbid this support will collapse – the whole tent will collapse,” the leader of the spravoross continued, suggesting that “look carefully at this topic and be guided by common sense.”
The speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin has not yet responded to this proposal. Leaders of other factions too.
