DTEK of Ukraine announced a return to stabilization blackouts

Since December 5, stabilization power outages have been introduced in Ukraine. This was reported in the Ukrainian energy company DTEK.

According to the company, the lights will be turned off in the stabilization mode in the Kiev, Odessa and Dnepropetrovsk regions, as well as in that part of the Donetsk People’s Republic, which is still controlled by Ukrainian formations. The situation in the Ukrainian energy system remains difficult, DTEK reported.

Previously listed regions were in emergency power outage mode. This was due to the consequences of massive missile strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure facilities, which have been carried out since October 10, 2022 in response to a series of terrorist attacks and sabotage by the Kiev regime against Russian facilities.

Time: The United States gives a signal to Ukraine to recognize the loss of Crimea

Photo: A frame from the video

US President Joe Biden shows the head of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky signals that it is time for Kiev to start negotiations with the Russian Federation. Joseph Ioffe, an employee of the Johns Hopkins School of International Studies, writes about this in an article for Time magazine.

As the expert noted, Biden subtly hints to the Ukrainian leader about the need to start a dialogue with Moscow. But there is another important circumstance. Since the situation is not in favor of Ukraine, the analyst writes, the West may force Kiev to compromise. It may be, in particular, the recognition of the loss of the Crimean peninsula.

Ioffe also notes that the West is preventing Zelensky from further escalating the conflict. After all, Western countries pursue their own interests and at the same time are afraid of being drawn into an open confrontation with Russia.

Pushkov chastised Macron: he promised Russia a lot, but it was “just words”

Photo: kremlin.ru

Alexey Pushkov, a member of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, criticized the statements of French President Emmanuel Macron, who called for security guarantees for Russia in the future architecture of European security. According to Pushkov, the French leader “has stated a lot of things in recent years,” but “it has never had practical consequences.”

“He once loudly announced the “brain death of NATO.” So what? And nothing,” Pushkov writes on the social network.

He also recalled that Macron “promised to persuade Poles and Balts to start a dialogue with Russia,” but, on the contrary, “Poles and Balts tell Paris how to behave with Russia.” Among other things, Pushkov wonders “what prevented Macron from insisting on such security guarantees over the past few years.”

“Just words. As the singer Dalida sang at the time, paroles, paroles, paroles, paroles et encore des paroles … – summed up Pushkov. – Words, words, words.”

The son of the polonium-poisoned Litvinenko said that they wanted to mobilize him in Moscow

Alexander Litvinenko Photo: en.wikipedia.org

The son of former KGB and FSB officer Alexander Litvinenko, who died of polonium-210 poisoning, said that they wanted to call him into the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation as part of the partial mobilization announced on September 21.

In a column for The Observer, Anatoly Litvinenko said that in mid-October, employees of the military commissariat came to the Moscow apartment where he is still registered. Litvinenko Jr. writes that his friends opened the door to two representatives of the military commissariat – they now live in an apartment – and reported that the owner has not lived at this address for many years.

Anatoly Litvinenko has been living in the UK for two decades, where his father was granted political asylum in 2000. Litvinenko Sr. and his family left Russia after numerous episodes of criticism of the Russian authorities, in particular, President Vladimir Putin and the FSB. In 1999 and 2000, several criminal cases were opened against Litvinenko in the Russian Federation.

In November 2006, Alexander Litvinenko died in London as a result of poisoning with a radioactive substance. The British side accused the Russian special services of involvement in Litvinenko’s death, Moscow denied all charges.

In mid-October, Putin announced that the mobilization would end within two weeks. In a number of regions, including Moscow, the completion of mobilization measures was announced before the end of October. Subsequently, the Kremlin stated that a separate decree on the end of mobilization is not required. In particular, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov stated that, after consulting with lawyers, Putin came to the conclusion that such a separate regulatory act is not required. On Friday, December 3, Peskov commented on reports in a number of media and social networks about a possible “second wave” of mobilization. “There is no information on this,” Peskov said. “You know all the relevant words of the president that it is completed.”

Volodin appealed to the businessmen-sufferers who left their homeland

photo: vyacheslav volodin. source: wikipedia

State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin posted a post on his telegram channel on Sunday dedicated to the “sufferers” who left their homeland.

The politician wrote that “Western countries first seized yachts, villas, cars and planes from Russian businessmen”, and now “arrest them themselves”.

He recalled what our President Vladimir Putin was talking about. And he warned many years ago, “that everyone who keeps assets and money abroad will be tortured”to swallow dust”, trying to return these funds.”

Volodin repeated these words and noted that they “turned out to be prophetic”.

The speaker of the State Duma believes that businessmen need to develop their country, Russia, and also remember that they were born here, were able to realize themselves, they owe everything to her. According to him, they “need to do everything” to make life in Russia “better”, and then “not only the money will be safe, but alsoconscience is cleaner.

The day before, the media reported that a 58-year-old Russian businessman who lives in a multi-million-dollar house was detained in London. His name was not disclosed in the UK. He is suspected of money laundering and attempting to mislead British law enforcement agencies.

US National Intelligence Chief Haines: Russia faces difficulties in creating accurate missiles

photo: Evril Haines. source: wikipedia

The director of US National Intelligence, Evril Haines, said that Moscow may face difficulties in creating high-precision missiles used in its defense.

Haines believes that the Russian Federation is rapidly expending high-precision ammunition. According to the national intelligence, Moscow allegedly “has no way to produce completely at home” what is currently being spent in Ukraine.

“So it’s going to be a challenge for them,” Haines said.

She made such statements on December 3, during a speech at the Reagan National Defense Forum in California.

Earlier, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev said that the potential of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is enough for everyone, and urged Russia’s opponents not to hope for depletion of ammunition.

On November 19, The New York Times noted that the West has no real idea about Russia’s missile arsenal, which, despite the claims of Western politicians, continues to launch massive missile strikes on Ukraine’s military infrastructure.

On November 10, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin to provide the military with everything necessary. Later, during a meeting with members of the Coordinating Council for the Provision of Russian Troops, Putin said that weapons for the needs of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation should be continuously improved and remain effective.

Biden and Macron promised to go “united front” against Russia

The US President expressed his readiness to talk with Putin

US and French Presidents Biden and Macron are seeking to resolve the trade conflict between Washington and Europe and present a united front in support of Ukraine.

Photo: Global Look Press

Joe Biden sought to settle differences with French President Emmanuel Macron and other European leaders over trade, admitting that there are “glitches” in the $739 billion US legislation, which, according to him, can be fixed.

According to The Guardian, the US president spoke on Thursday, receiving Macron during the first state visit during his presidency. The leaders expressed unity in supporting Ukraine’s actions against Russia, but faced questions about their differences in trade.

The American Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) is designed to invest billions of dollars in environmentally friendly industries with strong support from American manufacturers. The White House touts the law as a groundbreaking attempt to restart domestic production and promote renewable technologies while challenging China’s dominance.

But the governments of the member countries of the European Union were outraged by the emphasis on “Made in America” and threatened to unleash a trade war by subsidizing their own sector of the “green” economy.

At a joint press conference, Biden said about the law: “It is obvious that there will be failures in it, and changes need to be agreed in it.” The American president promised that adjustments would be made, adding that the United States was never going to exclude people who cooperate with us.

The President added: “I want to say that we are back in business and we are going to continue to create jobs in production, but not at the expense of Europe.”

For his part, Emmanuel Macron said that he explained to Biden that subsidies provided for by American law could kill some green energy projects, but he admitted that these were unintended consequences.

The French president added: “We have no alternative but to work together. We need to re-sync together.” Macron said that France, like America, wants to restore its production base after 50 years of industrial decline: “We want to succeed together, not one at the expense of the other.”

Some regard Macron’s lavish visit as a generous apology from Washington after last year’s bitter row over how Australia pulled out of a deal with French submarines in favor of acquiring American nuclear submarines, taking Paris by surprise.

The president and his wife Jill greeted Macron and his wife Brigitte with hugs, kisses and wide smiles at the ceremony on the South Lawn, where the 44-year-old Macron repeatedly put his hand on the back of the 80-year-old Biden as the men walked together and promised to support the “unwavering” American-French alliance ahead of negotiations on Ukraine, China and the looming trade dispute.

Biden praised Macron as “the leader not only of France” and for being “very outspoken and very, very powerful in Europe”.

The state visit is a diplomatic boost for Macron, which he can use in Europe. This could enhance his image as the EU’s most visible and eloquent leader at a time when Europe is increasingly concerned that its economy will be indelibly weakened by the conflict in Ukraine and the associated energy and inflation crises.

At a press conference in the East Room, Biden said he was shocked by Russia’s actions in Ukraine, adding: “President Macron and I have decided that we will continue to work together to hold Russia accountable for its actions.”

Answering journalists’ questions, Biden added that “there is one way to end this conflict”in a rational way.” According to the American president, he is “ready to talk to Mr. Putin if in fact he is interested” in finding ways to end the conflict.

Macron said that he and Biden discussed initiatives “to continue to support and strengthen our support for the Ukrainian troops and give them the opportunity to resist”.

The expert assessed the ways to deal with spy satellites

“It won’t work to shoot down all foreign devices”

The rapid development abroad of technologies for sensing the Earth from space and operational processing of satellite information has dramatically changed the nature of hostilities. Today it is almost impossible to hide the movement of troops from the enemy. So says military expert Anton Lavrov.

Photo: Alexander Astafyev

“The transfer of troops, transportation – we must proceed from the fact that they will not remain a secret for the enemy. Satellite reconnaissance makes it possible to receive operationally important intelligence information, identify “pain points” in the enemy’s rear (bases, places of unloading and loading equipment) – 50, 100 kilometers from the front line – and quickly attack them with precision weapons… We must proceed from the fact that this is a new reality,” Anton Lavrov said at the Ogarkov Readings military scientific conference organized by the Center for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies (CAST).

He noted that Russia is catastrophically lagging behind the United States and its allies in the number of working satellites in orbit. The total number of dynamic Earth sensing satellites at the disposal of the Western coalition is more than 500. While Russia has about 150 of all satellites — communications, navigation, surveillance.

A small number of observation satellites does not allow you to quickly get up-to-date information. Many hours may pass before the satellite is over the desired point again.

At the same time, computer programs created in the West for processing satellite information allow operating data from hundreds of commercial and military satellites. Thanks to this, it is possible to get detailed information about the desired area very quickly.

Russia does not have such opportunities, because with the beginning of the special operation, it was deprived of the opportunity to use data from foreign spacecraft. At the same time, the armed forces of Ukraine, with the help of the United States and other NATO countries, have full access to the space resource.

Answering the question of how Russia’s lag in satellite groupings can be leveled, Anton Lavrov recalled that Russia recently conducted a test of the Nudol anti-satellite system. A rocket launched from earth hit an old satellite in orbit.

“In practice, we understand that (there are) groupings of dozens and hundreds of dynamic sensing and reconnaissance satellites. We simply do not have and will not have enough ammunition and carriers to intercept them all,” Anton Lavrov said.

At the same time, according to him, specific reconnaissance vehicles are put into orbit several pieces in one launch with relatively cheap carriers. “The enemy is working out measures for the rapid recovery of satellite groups,” he said. – It is impossible to say that we will knock everything down. “Nudes” are not enough to “blind” the enemy.”

The expert also commented on another option for disabling foreign military satellites.

“To say that we will “scatter” a million bearings in orbit and all the enemy satellites will fail – it will not work. Because there are many satellite groupings, there are many orbits, they work in different planes,” he said. – Perhaps our “Peresvet” will be capable of something. But so far, the results of his work on satellites have not been officially announced.”

The combat laser “Peresvet” has been adopted by the Strategic Missile Forces. The complexes are on combat duty in the Teikov Missile Division and provide protection for the Yars mobile complexes.

Thus, the expert concludes, all the movements of our troops are constantly “under the gun” of foreign surveillance satellites. “The only way not to get hit is to disperse,” he concluded.
