France provoked a scandal at a meeting of the UN Security Council, not allowing Gazprom’s official representative Sergei Kupriyanov to finish his speech. Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN, said this in his Telegram channel.
Earlier, at the UN Security Council, at the suggestion of Russia, a meeting was held on the situation with the state of emergency on the Nord Stream and Nord Stream-2 lines. Kupriyanov presented his report at it.After its completion, he tried to voice comments on it, but the permanent representative of France, who now chairs the UN Security Council, cut him off.
According to Polyansky, the French presidency has completely exposed itself by such actions, since earlier the French Permanent Representative Nicolas de Riviere declared calls for dialogue and taking into account the opinions of others. “As it came down to business, it all came down to a banal attempt to shut up the speaker,” the Russian diplomat noted.
Several gas leaks on two Russian gas pipelines occurred on September 26. Seismic centers of the Scandinavian countries have recorded underwater explosions in this area. Vladimir Putin called the incident an act of international terrorism.
