Pope Francis believes that the supply of weapons to Ukraine does not contradict moral principles, reports Reuters.
So, during his visit to Kazakhstan, the pontiff was asked whether it was morally right to send weapons to Ukraine.
“This is a political decision that can be morally acceptable if it is made under moral conditions,” the Pope replied.
He recalled that there are principles of “just war” that allow for the proportional use of deadly weapons for protection. The supply of weapons with the aim of unleashing a new conflict will be immoral, Francis believes.
