The fate of the Ukrainian militants who surrendered at the Azovstal plant in Mariupol will be decided by the court. This statement was made by the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin.
“As for war criminals, as well as those who are nationalists, their fate, if they laid down their arms, should be decided by the court. No matter how the individual players play, I know there are different opinions, emotions, if the opponent has laid down his arms, then his future fate is decided by the court; if this is a Nazi criminal, then this is a tribunal,” said the head of the DPR.
According to Pushilin, war criminals are not only the commanders of the Azov regiment (the organization is banned on the territory of the Russian Federation), but also those militants who carry out their orders and act according to Nazi ideology, especially against civilians.
Earlier, the Headquarters of the Territorial Defense of the DPR reported that a total of 962 Ukrainian militants surrendered from the Azovstal plant, among whom there are wounded.
