Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the participants and guests of the fourth festival “Tavrida.ART”, which is currently taking place in the Crimea. He, in particular, touched upon the problem with the West’s attempt to “abolish Russian culture”.
“All attempts to abolish our culture, to abolish Russia are futile. This is just stupidity,” the head of state asserts.
According to him, those who think otherwise, “unfortunately for them, have not learned the lessons of history.” However, he recalled that history is made by people. Putin added that he also means those to whom he addresses “young people who know how to dream and create, work and win”.
“You will continue the traditions of culture, ensure the continuity of generations”, – noted the Russian leader.
Earlier, many prominent figures of Russian art declared the impossibility of abolishing Russian culture. In particular, the artistic director of the Oleg Tabakov Theater, Vladimir Mashkov, said that the attempts of the West to “push” Russian culture away from the world cannot be successful. It is impossible to cancel Russian culture, just as it is impossible to cancel the people of art themselves, the artistic director of “Snuffboxes” emphasized.
