Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law on the protection of the minimum income of citizens from being written off for debts. The document was published on the official portal of legal information.
The minimum income is necessary for the existence of the debtor and his dependents. Wages and other incomes of a debtor citizen equal to the subsistence minimum of the able-bodied population are included in the list of property that cannot be foreclosed on.
The debtor receives the right to apply to the Federal Bailiff Service of the Russian Federation with an indication of the account from which it will be impossible to write off the amount of 12,702 rubles as of 2021. The calculation is based on the regional subsistence minimum. However, this rule does not apply to the recovery of alimony, compensation for damage caused to health, damage caused by a crime.
The debtor also gets the opportunity to save wages and other income in an amount exceeding the subsistence minimum of the working-age population as a whole, if he has dependents.
