The Kremlin press service reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
As noted in the message, during the conversation, an “in-depth exchange of views on topical aspects of the situation in Ukraine” was held.
In particular, Vladimir Putin told the interlocutors about the development of the special operation, about the organization of work to establish peaceful life in Mariupol and other cities that have come under the control of the Russian army.
Putin assured that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation strictly observe the norms of international humanitarian law.
In addition, the President noted that Russia is open to resuming dialogue with Ukraine, but stressed that negotiations are in a frozen state due to Kiev’s fault.
Putin drew the attention of Macron and Scholz to the dangerous nature of the ongoing pumping of Western weapons into Ukraine.
The interlocutors also discussed issues of ensuring global food security. Putin explained the reasons for the difficulties with food supplies, which were the result of the erroneous policy of the West.
