Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed decrees recognizing the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions as independent territories, the Kremlin’s press service reports.
The decrees have already been posted on the Internet portal of legal information.
It should be noted that the recognition of the independence of these territories is a formal step necessary for their further integration into Russia. As for the DPR and the LPR, Moscow recognized their independence back in February 2022.
Earlier, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin Dmitry Peskov said that the agreements on the entry of the Donetsk, Lugansk People’s Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions into the Russian Federation will be signed on September 30 at 15:00 Moscow time in the St. George Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace.
