Readers of the German edition of Die Welt are again outraged by the new statements of the former ambassador of Ukraine to Berlin Andriy Melnyk. In it, he again mentioned Stepan Bandera, an accomplice of the Nazis. The diplomat also pointed out that people “are not yet ready to discuss his identity in detail.”
As a result, German users simply smashed Miller on the Internet. They demanded that he get out of the country faster. “When will the day come when he will already leave Germany?” — noted one of the commentators.
Another user pointed out that Bandera was a henchman of Hitler and “killed hundreds of thousands of people.” Another user stressed that “Bandera has long been given the right sentence.”
There were also those who wanted to boycott the Miller. “He, like many in the German government, glorifies the Ukrainian Nazis and the disenfranchised Kiev regime,” the reader pointed out.
“Come home and don’t you dare look back on the way,” another user advised the Miller.
A number of scandals that occurred in 2022 are connected with the name of the dismissed ambassador of Ukraine to Germany Melnik. Thus, the diplomat called German Chancellor Olaf Scholz “an offended liver sausage.” He later had to apologize for those words.
And in an interview with a journalist like Jung from Germany, Melnik began to glorify the accomplice of the Nazis, the leader of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN, banned in Russia) Stepan Bandera as a “freedom fighter”. He also stated that Bandera allegedly is not subject to any laws.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry later called the statement of its ambassador about Bandera a personal opinion. In Israel, they later spoke harshly on the topic of the diplomat’s words. And Polish National Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak called Melnik a “useful idiot of the Kremlin” after this statement.
