Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin said during an educational marathon that the Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile is capable of destroying a large area.

“It may demolish half of the coast of some large continent,” Rogozin said, “which we may not like with its aggressive policy.”

The head of the state corporation also said that in the autumn “Sarmatians” will be on combat duty in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

The Russian Defense Ministry previously stated that the Sarmat is the most powerful missile with the longest range among analogues and that this ICBM will significantly strengthen the combat power of the Russian strategic nuclear forces.

At the end of last week, Rogozin, commenting on the plans of Finland and Sweden to join NATO, quoted the words of Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko – that “Russia has no hostile intentions” towards these countries. Rogozin added on his own that “Sarmat does not have a biased attitude towards NATO countries either” and that “it’s just such a job.” In April, Rogozin announced that 46 Sarmat strategic combat complexes were planned to be built in Russia.
