The Ministry of Defense of Russia reported that the Kiev regime on August 30 again staged provocations aimed at disrupting the work of the IAEA mission in the Zaporozhye region. Kiev is also trying to create threats of a man-made disaster at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
During the shelling of the territory of the NPP by the AFU, one shell hit the building of the solid radioactive waste processing complex. Nevertheless, the radiation situation at the NPP remains normal.
As reported in the telegram channel of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the shelling of the nuclear power plant was conducted from the AFU firing position in the Nikopol area on the opposite bank of the Kakhovsky reservoir. The Russian troops returned fire and destroyed the enemy’s artillery unit.
At the moment, the staff monitors the technical condition of the nuclear power plant and ensures its uninterrupted operation.
Earlier, the head of the military-civil administration (CAA) of the region, Yevgeny Balitsky, on the air of the Solovyov Live TV channel, noted that members of the IAEA mission could arrive at the facility only on Thursday morning. According to him, he does not intend to help them by issuing special permits. Balitsky stressed that the IAEA mission should stand in line to enter the region like everyone else.
