German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is going to agree on the supply of important raw materials instead of Russian. He stated this during a speech in Montreal.
“The country [Canada] has the same rich minerals as Russia, with the only difference that it is a reliable democracy,” Scholz said, according to the DPA news agency.
The German Chancellor also added that the country is discovering new areas of cooperation, as well as close cooperation in building an economy based on green hydrogen.
In addition, according to the publication, during Scholz’s visit to Montreal, it is planned to sign agreements between Germany and Canada on close cooperation in the production and transportation of green hydrogen. The issue of supplies of liquefied natural gas, minerals, and metals from Canada to Germany will also be discussed.
