Pavel Chikov, a Russian lawyer and human rights activist, head of the International Human Rights Group Agora, said in his Telegram channel that the leader of the DDT group, Yuri Shevchuk, refused to testify in an administrative case about “discrediting the Russian army” after statements from the stage at a concert in Ufa.
“Yuriy Yulianovich honors the Constitution and the rights guaranteed by it,” Chikov wrote in a comment under a photo of Shevchuk’s written statement, in which he noted that he refuses to testify in accordance with article 51 of the Constitution.
According to Chikov, now this case has been sent from Ufa to St. Petersburg.
“Lawyer Alexander Peredruk, who accepted the defense of the leader of the DDT group, is waiting for him in the Dzerzhinsky court of St. Petersburg,” the lawyer added.
Earlier it was reported that an administrative protocol was drawn up against Shevchuk after the musician expressed his attitude to the Motherland and what is happening in Ukraine at a concert in Ufa.
At the same time, according to Russian media, Shevchuk made similar statements regarding the Russian special operation at other concerts. Now the Investigative Committee is checking for the initiation of a criminal case against the musician.
