Deputy Head of the administration of the Kherson region Kirill Stremousov urged residents of the region to evacuate, as the “battle for Kherson” may begin in the very near future.
“Civilians are advised, if possible, to leave the area of the upcoming violent hostilities in order to… do not put yourself at unnecessary risk,” Stremousov said.
According to the Kherson official, there is a danger of destruction of residential buildings as a result of missile and bomb attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“We are not going to surrender the city, we will stand until the end,” he reassured citizens.
Earlier, the acting governor of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo, announced the beginning of an organized evacuation of the civilian population of the region to the left bank of the Dnieper due to the fact that the AFU is “accumulating forces for a large-scale offensive.”
