The Swiss authorities have decided to extradite Russian businessman Vladislav Klyushin to the United States. This was reported in the Ministry of Justice of the country. Earlier, they refused to extradite him to Russia, despite the fact that the Russian Federation filed an extradition request earlier than the American side.
Klyushin was arrested in Switzerland in March this year at the request of the United States. In the United States, he is accused of financial fraud for tens of millions of dollars.
The Russian side sent a request for the extradition of Klyushin on April 7, 12 days earlier than the United States did. But the Swiss authorities rejected it, citing the fact that the fact stated in the request is not subject to criminal liability under the country’s legislation.
Vladislav Klyushin intends to challenge the decision to extradite him to the United States.
Klyushin is one of the founders of the company “M13”, specializing in media monitoring technologies. In particular, the Russian government and the presidential administration use the company’s developments to monitor the media and social networks.
