The Russian military used the latest heavy flamethrower system TOS-2 “Tosochka” during a special operation in Ukraine, TASS reports, citing a source in the armed forces. The Agency noted that it does not have official confirmation of this information.
“The CBT-2 systems were used in the Kharkiv direction,” the publication quotes the words of its source. According to him, during the special operation in Ukraine, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are “rolling in” many military innovations.
For the first time, the TOS-2 system was used during the strategic exercises “Caucasus-2020” at the Kapustin Yar training ground in the Astrakhan region.
Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation plans to deploy heavy jet flamethrower systems TOS-1A “Solntsepek” and TOS-2 “Tosochka” in the Southern Military District to cover the Caucasus, Crimea and the border of Russia with Ukraine. Then a number of experts regarded this as a response to the preparation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for possible military actions against the Russian Federation.
