The Turkish army is fully ready to launch a cross-border operation in Syria and is waiting for an order to start it, TGRT TV channel reports.
As noted, all the preparatory work for the military operation has come to an end. From the four previous operations carried out by the Turkish Armed Forces since 2016 in the adjacent territory, it will differ in that the emphasis will be placed on the use of its own military equipment or upgraded by the Turkish side, TGRT clarifies.
So, strike drones, including Bayraktar, Koral electronic warfare systems, T129 ATAK fire support and reconnaissance helicopters and others should be involved in the operation.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has previously said that the operation in northern Syria can be launched at any time, at the initial stage its goal will be to liberate the Tell Rifaat and Manbij districts from terrorists. According to him, the main goal of the operation is the expansion of the 30-kilometer security zone formed in October 2019 as a result of the operation “Source of Peace”.
