According to Yushkov, the feeling that Europe is expected to suffer minor losses in this case is deceptive.
“About 33 million cubic meters of gas are pumped through the pipeline per day, and the average daily consumption, for example, in Germany is about 250 million cubic meters… But a shutdown for a longer period may provoke a further increase in already high gas prices,” the expert noted.
