The captured major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine told about looting under the guise of the Russian military in Mariupol

AFU fighters disguised as Russian military in Mariupol engaged in looting and tried to cause panic among the local population. This was admitted to RIA Novosti by the deputy commander of the first separate battalion of the Marine Infantry of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Major Nikolai Mishchenko. He is in custody.

According to Mishchenko, the raids into the city were carried out by groups of 10-12 people. “They put white ribbons on themselves, imitating the enemy, roughly speaking, and went out with the aim of destabilizing, as I understand it, intelligence data, destabilizing the general situation, panicking the local population, because it is unclear who is coming, and carrying out looting actions,” Mishchenko said.

The major also stressed that servicemen from the AFU jet division threw grenades into basements and buildings and fired at them from RPGs without looking. without checking if there are civilians there.

Mariupol was liberated by Russian troops together with the forces of the DPR and LPR in mid-May. The city was seriously destroyed during the fighting. The Investigative Committee estimated the damage from the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at 46 billion rubles.
